Active Learning Practice

These hands-on activities were developed by Iris Howley for CSCI 134 at Williams College. They were designed using a POGIL-inspired philosophy that emphasizes active learning. Each document is a self-contained activity that has been used in previous semesters as a way to present introductory computer science course concepts during class meetings.

These activities do not necessarily have a one-to-one mapping with Spring 2024 lectures, although the topics in these activities are all covered by some lecture. For example, in Spring 2024 we covered nested lists after nested loops, and this ordering means the activities contain topics that differ from the topics used in our lecture examples. activities to review course material, they should be extremely helpful!
