  • BINARY (BASE 2) USES 0 AND 1
    DECIMAL (BASE 10) USES 0,...,9
    HEXADECIMAL (BASE 16) USES 0,..9,A,B,C,D,E,F.

    FF = 15x161 + 15x160 = 255

    SO, 'FFFFFF" = 255,255,255 = WHITE

  • BECAUSE 16 IS A POWER OF 2, CONVERTING BETWEEN BINARY AND BASE 16 IS EASY, BUT....
