Suppose only one packet needed to be sent. Suppose that B's acknowledgement of this packet was lost or delayed, so that A sent the packet out 5 times before it finally got the ack.
Each time B gets a packet it will send an acknowledgement. So, even if it had already received one or more copies of A's one and only packet it would send another acknowledgement each time one of A's repeat transmissions arrived.
So what does A do with the extra acknowledgements, just toss them? Do they make any difference whatsoever?
What I'd like to know is this: how can i send a message from my body to my brain telling it to hurry up and answer this question so I can go to sleep?
What would happen?
What would B do with the 4 junk packets? I assume it would just delete them. But would B send more acknowledgements, suspecting that the acks were getting lost?
